Our Remodeling Hints & Tips

At Lucci's it is our goal to make the remodeling experience as simple and convenient as possible. Our craftsman clean up daily and leave your home as dust and debris free as possible. With over 58 years in kitchen and bath design and remodeling, we have found the hints and tips below make your life as well as our work go much smoother.

  • 1. At Lucci's the rest of your home is as important to us as the room we are remodeling. If there are doorways that you want covered in plastic to keep the dust down, please let us know.

  • 2. To keep your personal items out of harms way and to keep them free from dust and debris, we suggest that you remove all items from your cabinetry and pack into boxes. Be sure to move all the boxes to an area away from where the remodeling will be done. When we are finished, they can easily be put back in their proper places clean and dust free. We will let you know in advance when we will be starting your project to give you plenty of time to make these arrangements.

  • 3. If you are having your kitchen remodeled, there will be a period of time that you will not be able to use your kitchen. The easiest way to remedy this inconvenience it to assemble a "mock" kitchen elsewhere in the home out of the craftsman's way. Keep essential items handy such as coffee pot, coffee and sugar/creamer, dish soap and dish cloths, microwave ready food, paper dishes, cups, paper towels and napkins and garbage bags and other items you use everyday. We also suggest that you put your refrigerator, microwave and a table for easy preparation as well as keeping these large items out of the craftsman's way.

  • 4. If a bathroom is being remodeled remember to equip another bathroom with essential items such as soap, shampoo, cosmetics, towels, washcloths, and hair dryer. If your are unable to equip another bathroom discuss with your designer the alternatives for that situation.

  • 5. Let your installer know of any special circumstances they should be aware of such as a dog or cat that should not be let outside. Pick a place that will serve as a message station for any notes or comments for our craftsmen during your project. This would also be a good place to keep emergency numbers where you can be reached when you are not going to be home during the day.

  • 6. Enjoy the break from cooking and eat out on nights where preparing a meal is almost impossible. Keep restaurant and pizza coupons handy for those nights.

  • 7. Let our craftsman know which entry way they can use, and, if possible clear an area in your garage or basement that can be utilized for storage and a work area. We will be sure to cover any floor where we will be working with drop cloths and/or plastic to protect your floors and carpeting.

  • 8. Relax and let our craftsmen do what they do best, when the last piece of moulding is installed and the last piece of wallpaper is hung, you will be ecstatic with your new kitchen or bathroom.
